Samsung Galaxy S25’s Top AI Feature Now Available on Google Pixel 9

Samsung Galaxy S25's latest AI innovation has been incorporated into the new Google Pixel 9, enhancing the user experience with more advanced features.
Introduction of Gemini Talk Live on Pixel 9
Boosting its smartphone tech arsenal, Google has equipped its Pixel 9 phones, as well as last year’s Galaxy S24 series, with a cutting-edge AI tool from the Samsung Galaxy S25. This feature, Gemini Talk Live, initiates live conversations with the virtual assistant Gemini based on the content displayed on the screen.
How Does Gemini Talk Live Work?
A long press on the power button or a voice command summons the Gemini interface while you are viewing an image, video, or document. Chips then appear above the standard dialogue box. By tapping one, Gemini accesses the information being viewed before switching to live chat mode. This could include the URL and page data you are viewing, or the entire file if it is saved locally.
Compatibility and Usage
For your information, I successfully used this feature on a Pixel 9 Fold with Gemini version 1.0.686588308 and Google app version 16.2.40. By default, the video/image/file is automatically submitted to Gemini when you press the “Ask about” button. However, a long press on the chips allows you to toggle this feature on or off as needed.
The End of AI Exclusivity
It was bound to happen that Google would integrate features from the Galaxy S25 into its own phones. We saw this last year with the Circle to Search feature, originally introduced on the Galaxy S24 series, but quickly made available on the Pixel 8 series. Today, Circle to Search is available on most new Android devices, a fate likely for Gemini Talk Live as well.
While this might be slightly irritating for early adopters of the Galaxy S25 who expected a longer period of exclusivity, the availability of Circle to Search on Pixels and other phones has not diminished its utility, and the same is expected for Gemini Talk Live. The Galaxy S25 series still boasts numerous other unique AI features, such as Now Brief and inter-app actions, which users can explore themselves starting February 7th, when the S25, S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra go on sale.
