Israel Vows Retaliation After Deadly Rocket Attack

The air traffic disruptions are directly linked to the “escalation of tensions” in the region. On Saturday, July 27, a rocket attack attributed to Hezbollah killed twelve teenagers and a child on the Golan Heights, a territory occupied by Israel.

Israel has pledged to respond “forcefully” to this lethal assault, raising fears of a renewed flare-up in the conflict between the Israeli military (IDF) and Hezbollah.

Direct Impact on Air Transportation

The incidents have triggered an immediate impact on air transportation. Lufthansa and its subsidiary Eurowings canceled three flights to Beirut scheduled for Monday afternoon, according to Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport’s information board and Flightradar24.
