Leaked images of the Google Pixel 9a have just surfaced, offering an early glimpse of the device. Stay tuned for more detailed revelations!

Leaked Images of Google’s Pixel 9a

The Google Pixel 9 has just been released, yet anticipation for the next model remains high. Today, we take an initial look at the Pixel 9a, the budget-friendly addition to the Pixel lineup, acclaimed as one of the best reasonably priced phones on the market.

Significant Design Changes

The images come from Android Headlines in collaboration with leak specialist OnLeaks, also known as Steve Hemmerstoffer. He accessed CAD drawings of new devices and created renders based on these drawings. His work is typically quite accurate when compared to the actual new phones.

The renders show several differences between the Pixel 9a and the Pixel 8a. Similar to the flagship Pixel 9 phones, the most prominent design change is the camera layout.

Whereas the Pixel 8a featured an edge-to-edge silver bar, the Pixel 9a loses this bar, instead featuring just horizontal inline cameras. The cameras appear more flush with the phone’s surface, likely mirroring the Pixel 9’s camera with an ultra-wide and main lens.

Pixel 9a Specifications

Details on the Pixel 9a’s specifications are scarce, with some news about the processor. In September, it was suggested that the Pixel 9a would use the Tensor G4 chipset that powers the Pixel 9. However, it might not include the Samsung Exynos 5400 modem, implying that the Pixel 9a may lack the Satellite SOS feature.

Launching with Android 15

Surprisingly, the Pixel 9a is expected to be among the first Pixel devices to launch with Android 15, which has not yet been officially released. The operating system update is expected to be available from October 15. Typically, Google launches the A-series in the spring, as seen this year with the Pixel 8a announced on May 7 at Google I/O. A similar release schedule is anticipated for the Pixel 9a.
