This new gadget streams Dolby Atmos audio throughout your home by utilizing your electrical outlets.

Revolutionary Dolby Atmos Certified Audio System

Connectivity company Fasetto has recently declared that its upcoming Audio Cu system has earned the Dolby Atmos Product certification. According to The Verge, this cutting-edge system connects devices such as TVs to speakers and subwoofers not through wires or wireless connections, but by utilizing existing electrical outlets in a home.

A Novel Alternative to Traditional Systems

The Audio Cu offers an innovative alternative to both running and hiding speaker cables around a home cinema setup and to wireless systems that rely on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connections, which come with their own latency and signal challenges.

Setup and Operation

On its website, Fasetto outlines a straightforward setup involving three speakers (two towers and one central channel), a subwoofer, and a TV. This setup would require five Audio Cu devices and five wall outlets. Each speaker is connected to a receiver unit while the TV needs a transmitter. Fasetto confirms that no AV receiver is necessary.

The Audio Cu devices must be directly plugged into a power outlet to operate efficiently. Consequently, for your speaker outlets, you’ll need to open a second outlet or use a power strip if you connect more than one device to the same outlet.

Performance and Adaptability

Fasetto ensures that the system’s latency is less than 20 milliseconds and is unaffected by common household electronic interference, such as that from vacuum cleaners or microwaves. The system can handle up to ten channels through electrical lines from one transmitter, sufficient for a 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos setup. Additionally, up to six transmitters can be used in separate setups, with the Audio Cu system supporting a maximum of 32 channels.

Despite these technological advancements, no details have been released regarding the price or launch date of this new system. However, it appears particularly suited for smaller spaces like compact homes or apartments where outlets are relatively close during system installation.
