This feature, while serving as a promotional tool, will also greatly benefit fans.

A New Tool for Music Lovers on Apple Music

For any music enthusiast, the dream of reliving a memorable concert or anticipating the setlist of an upcoming event is universal. Excitingly, Apple Music has now introduced a feature that lets artists convert their concert setlists into playlists, using data from Bandsintown.

How Does It Work?

Artists begin by linking their Apple Music for Artists account with Bandsintown, selecting the type of performance (such as a concert, tour, or residency) and associating it with future dates. They can then set a release date and use the search function to craft their playlist. These playlists can feature the artist’s original songs, covers, or collaborations. Apple Music allows for unlimited creation of playlists for past or future events, though they recommend that playlists for a tour reflect the entire set of performances as closely as possible.

A Promotional Tool for Artists

This new feature is marketed by Apple Music as a promotional tool for artists. Once published, playlists can be shared in various ways, offering fans insights into expected songs, a way to relive concert experiences, or enjoy a show they missed. If your favorite artist hasn’t adopted this trend yet, don’t worry. Alternative options like Setify allow you to create your own playlists using data from setlist.fm. For instance, I recently missed seeing one of my favorite bands at Furnace Fest, but through this method, I managed to experience Blindside’s About a Burning Fire remotely.
