iOS 18.2 May Offer ChatGPT Subscription Option Through Apple

The ChatGPT Plus plan, priced at $20 per month, is now available in the latest beta version for developers.
New Paid Option for ChatGPT on iOS 18.2
Apple users may soon have the option to upgrade to a paid plan for ChatGPT, as revealed by a detailed analysis of the second developer beta of iOS 18.2 by MacRumors. This feature will be part of the Apple Intelligence suite.
Limitations on Advanced Features
Users who opt out of the paid service will face limitations on advanced ChatGPT features. A “daily limit” section under “advanced capabilities” shows a “below limit” status, indicating that users might only use the latest advanced features of ChatGPT a few times per day. For example, generating images with DALL-E 3 would be capped at two per day.
Once this limit is reached, Siri would switch to a free version of ChatGPT, which offers fewer advanced tools. Free access to ChatGPT-4o resets every 24 hours across all platforms.
Subscribing to ChatGPT Plus
By clicking the “upgrade to ChatGPT Plus” button, users will be directed to a subscription purchase screen within the app. The subscription costs $20 per month. It appears that Apple is not implementing its own subscription model, but rather users would pay for unlimited access to premium ChatGPT features.
The iOS 18.2 Update
The integration of ChatGPT is not the only new feature in the iOS 18.2 developer beta. There is also an enhancement to Apple’s “Find My” function. Both features are expected to be available with the final release of iOS 18.2, scheduled for early December.
