Lenovo Unveils the Expandable ThinkBook Plus Ahead of Schedule

The innovative Lenovo ThinkBook Plus laptop, featuring an extension function, was prematurely revealed due to a mistake.
Lenovo Stuns with New Rollable Screen
Lenovo’s upcoming ThinkBook Plus might just redefine the laptop industry. Leaked images from notable leaker Evan Blass reveal a rollable screen, pushing the boundaries of traditional computer displays.
An Evolving Concept
Lenovo is no stranger to pioneering display technology. The company has been experimenting with rollable laptop screens for years. In 2024, Lenovo introduced the Auto Twist, featuring a screen that could “automatically pivot and fold”. In 2023, the Yoga Book 9i was equipped with two separate touch screens, enhancing the viewing area.
A Rollable Screen: Opening New Possibilities
The leaked images showcase a laptop with a slightly larger than average screen that can extend and unroll to offer a double display area. The visuals display a video conference on the upper part of the screen and what appears to be a PowerPoint presentation on the lower part. The potential uses for this extended display area seem boundless. However, Blass has not shared further technical details on this new ThinkBook Plus.
An Accessibility Challenge
Until now, rollable screens were mostly confined to smartphone concepts and high-end TVs. If Lenovo manages to market a laptop with this unique technology at an affordable price, it could spark a major trend. However, the fifth-generation ThinkBook Plus, which transformed into an Android tablet when the keyboard was detached, was priced starting at $2,000, raising questions about the economic viability of this innovative model.
