ChatGPT and Apple Intelligence: A New Era of Artificial Intelligence
Since December 11, with the release of iOS 18.2, ChatGPT has become a core component of Apple Intelligence. Owners of recent iPhones, iPads, or Macs can now access OpenAI’s chatbot directly from their devices, bypassing the need for the ChatGPT app or web client.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a generative AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, powered by an advanced language learning model. Capable of web searching, solving complex math and coding problems, ChatGPT can also generate text, images, and audio using natural language interaction.
How to Use ChatGPT on Your iPhone?
On the iPhone, ChatGPT can primarily be accessed via three interfaces. First, Siri can utilize ChatGPT to answer queries. Additionally, ChatGPT can identify places and objects through the iPhone 16’s Camera Control menu.
How to Set Up ChatGPT?
If your iPhone hasn’t prompted you to activate ChatGPT, you can manually enable the feature by following these steps:
Go to Settings.
Tap on Apple Intelligence & Siri.
Tap on ChatGPT, then select Set Up.
Tap on Activate ChatGPT or Use ChatGPT with an Account. Choose the latter if you have an OpenAI account.
Which Apple Devices Offer ChatGPT Integration?
An iPhone with Apple Intelligence is required to use ChatGPT. As of this writing, Apple Intelligence is available on the following devices:
