Google to Upgrade Circle to Search with Automatic Translation

Here’s what we know about Google's upcoming major update, "Circle to Search," which may include an automatic translation feature.
Google: Preparing an Automatic Translation Feature
Google, a leader in artificial intelligence, is reportedly developing a significant new feature to enhance user experience, particularly for those who frequently read texts in non-native languages. This feature is expected to be highly beneficial.
Update for Android Users
Following the recent rollout of its new “AI Mode” for Search and the integration of Gemini Calendar, Google is now introducing something new for Android users. According to a report by Android Authority, the latest beta version 16.9.39.sa.arm64 of the Google app includes a new automatic translation feature for Circle to Search.
Circle to Search: Simplified Translation
Currently, to use translation in Circle to Search, users must select the “Translate” option. However, the potential beta update could automate this process, removing the need to manually select the translation function. Users would simply need to circle the text they want translated.
This would save significant time, especially for those in multilingual regions. The feature, which could be turned off via a three-dot menu, would allow for one-step translation.
A Feature Still in Testing Phase
Android Authority notes that beta features might not make it to the final release, but the availability of this feature in beta is a promising sign. While Circle to Search is not yet universally available on all devices, it is likely accessible on top Android phones. On Pixel phones, the feature works from Pixel 6 onwards, while flagship Samsung phones from the Galaxy S21 series onwards, as well as the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 13, and Motorola Edge 50 Pro, are compatible.
