A 22-year-old influencer was brutally stabbed multiple times and killed while streaming live on the bustling streets of Tokyo, marking a shocking and tragic event.

Live Tragedy on WhoWatch

A shocking incident unfolded in Tokyo on Tuesday, March 11, when 22-year-old influencer Airi Sato was brutally murdered on the street during a live broadcast on the WhoWatch app. The police swiftly arrested a suspect.

A Chilling Attack

Airi Sato suffered a violent knife attack, a scene of unspeakable horror. According to the Japan Times, she sustained multiple stab wounds to her face, neck, chest, and abdomen. She was rushed to the hospital unconscious and tragically did not survive her injuries.

Suspect Quickly Captured

The tragedy led to the quick apprehension of the suspect. The police stated that the alleged attacker, 42-year-old Kenichi Takano, tracked down Airi Sato through her live stream on WhoWatch. His occupation is unknown, and he is suspected of using a survival knife in the assault.

Although he claimed he did not intend to kill her, the severity of his actions strongly suggests otherwise. “When the police arrived, he raised his hand and said: ‘It was me.'”, a witness reported.

An Unpaid Debt Case?

The motive for the crime is still unclear, but one theory is emerging. According to police, Kenichi Takano had lent Airi Sato $13,500 in 2022, a debt she allegedly never repaid. The suspect knew she would be on the streets of Tokyo that evening, information he purportedly used to execute his plan.
