The latest OxygenOS update has introduced a host of enhancements to OnePlus Open, featuring exciting new key functionalities.

The OnePlus Open: A Top Choice in Foldable Phones

The foldable phone market is increasingly competitive, yet the OnePlus Open stands out as the best option. Its appeal is not only due to its price, which is hundreds of dollars less than competitors like Google and Samsung, but also due to its flawless performance.

An Update that Enhances User Experience

OnePlus is not resting on its laurels. The company is rolling out an update designed to enhance the user experience on the large Android screen. The OxygenOS 15.0.0.700 update, released in India, brings several significant improvements.

Notable Improvements to the OnePlus Open

Users can now rename app groups by holding down the shortcut on the home screen, and resize folders within the same space by dragging them to 1×2 or 2×1. Additionally, OnePlus has introduced an option to adjust the size and appearance of third-party 2×2 widgets on the home screen for “visual consistency”. This option can be found under Settings > Home Screen & Lock Screen > Optimize Widget Appearance.

Moreover, the designs of Zomato and Blinkit widgets have been updated to “better communicate the app’s status,” while the music player controls for Spotify in Live Alert mode have also been optimized.

Ongoing Improvements for the OnePlus Open

While these enhancements may not be revolutionary, they represent solid, reassuring progress for users. OnePlus does not seem to be abandoning OnePlus Open owners despite no plans for a OnePlus Open 2 this year.

It’s noteworthy that the OnePlus Open is already the best foldable phone you can buy. “There is no other notebook-style foldable phone that has impressed me more this year than this one,” said our chief phone editor, John Velasco, in his 4.5-star review of the OnePlus Open.

It is therefore all the more disappointing that a sequel is not planned for this year. However, this does not mean OnePlus is finished with foldable phones. According to leaker Max Jambor, a device codenamed “Pagani” is in the works, potentially another foldable phone set for release next year. 2026 could thus be an exciting year for foldable phones.
