Google Cloud Boosts AI Agent Support for Operators
In 2025, Google Cloud is propelling the growth of agentic AI through a new agent exchange protocol and an innovative marketplace, setting the stage for unparalleled intelligent collaboration.
Google Cloud Innovates with Agentic AI
In 2025, Google Cloud propels the agentic AI ecosystem to new heights by launching a novel marketplace and an agent-to-agent (A2A) protocol, facilitating communication among agents across various telecommunication and business environments.
Understanding Agentic AI
Agentic AI revolutionizes how complex tasks are handled by breaking down complex designs into smaller, manageable tasks. These tasks are distributed across operator networks or corporate environments, with each task handled by specialized AI agents tailored for specific domains.
These agents operate autonomously and act based on their expertise, connecting and coordinating with each other to collaboratively achieve precise and optimal outcomes.
Google Cloud’s Initiatives
Google Cloud’s agentic AI initiatives aim to create a common ecosystem where third-party agents can work alongside those developed by operators, eliminating the need for each party to develop their own agents for specific tasks.
The A2A protocol by Google Cloud provides a framework for agents to communicate, securely exchange information, and coordinate actions, offering providers and operators a common language platform, regardless of the system they were originally designed to work with.
Google Cloud has partnered with over 50 industry providers including Atlassian, Box, Cohere Technologies, MongoDB, Salesforce, SAP, and ServiceNow for the A2A initiative.
An Application Example
According to Erwan Menard, Director of Product Management for Cloud AI at Google Cloud, “Imagine a telecommunications company using a Google Gemini-powered agent to monitor the network. If it detects an issue based on network data, it could automatically instruct another agent, for example from ServiceNow, to create a service ticket to initiate necessary repair or service processes.”
Additionally, Google Cloud has launched the AI Agent Marketplace, enabling customers to browse, purchase, and manage agents developed by partners such as Accenture, BigCommerce, Deloitte, Elastic, UiPath, Typeface, and VMware, with more agents on the way from Cognizant, Slalom, and Wipro.
Lastly, Google Cloud announced an Agent Development Kit (ADK), an open-source framework that “simplifies the process of creating sophisticated multi-agent systems while maintaining precise control over agent behavior.” The ADK is part of Google Cloud’s Vertex AI portfolio for building, deploying, and managing AI agents and models.
