To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch, Apple is giving away a limited-edition pin. Learn how to claim yours by signing up to receive top tips from Tom’s guide directly in your inbox.

A Decade of Apple Watch: Celebration and Challenge

Next week marks the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch. To commemorate this milestone, Tim Cook and his team have issued a challenge to all Apple Watch owners: close their activity rings to win limited edition digital rewards. Since its launch in April 2015, the Apple Watch has quickly become the world’s best-selling wearable, with 4.2 million units sold in the second quarter of 2015 alone.

A Challenge Open to All

The exciting part is that this challenge is open to every Apple Watch owner, whether you have the latest model, including Series 10 and Ultra 2, or the very first one. Additionally, Apple Watch enthusiasts can also pick up a free commemorative item starting April 24 to celebrate the occasion.

Rewards for the Most Active

On the global “Close Your Rings” day, Apple is motivating Apple Watch owners to focus on fitness and activity. Those who manage to close all three activity rings – Move, Exercise, and Stand – will earn 10 animated stickers and a special animated badge for use in the Messages app. Note that participants need to have watchOS 5 or later, which is compatible even with the first Apple Watch.

A Commemorative Pin as a Bonus

But that’s not all. Apple will also be giving away free commemorative pins for the Apple Watch’s 10th anniversary starting April 24 (no ring closures required). However, obtaining a pin might be challenging for those without access to an Apple Store. After closing your rings on April 24, Apple encourages you to screenshot your achievement and share it on social media with the hashtag #CloseYourRings.

As for me, I plan to take part in the global “Close Your Rings” day on April 24 🙂
