An International Jury & Renewed Selection Criteria

The competition’s credibility rests heavily on its selection process. This year sees a reinforced approach: from thousands of global entries, one thousand works will be shortlisted before an elite « XMAGE 100 » selection receives special recognition. Additionally, three photographers will earn the coveted Photographer of the Year title. Behind these choices stands an eclectic panel of nine experts whose expertise spans fields such as art direction, Pulitzer-winning photojournalism, imaging research, and industry strategy.
Among those lending their judgment are figures like Florence Bourgeois (Paris Photo), Shoair Mavlian (The Photographers’ Gallery), and Liu Heung Shing (esteemed photojournalist). This diversity underscores both the international ambition of the contest and its openness to multiple viewpoints.

Entries must be submitted by September 15, 2025 (midnight Beijing time).
