Amazon to Offer Same-Day Prescription Delivery in Nearly Half of U.S. States Next Year

This will be rolled out across 20 new metropolitan areas.
Amazon Expands Same-Day Prescription Delivery Service
Tech giant Amazon continues to innovate, announcing an upcoming expansion of its same-day prescription delivery service to include 20 additional cities and their metropolitan areas next year. This expansion will make the service accessible to nearly half of the U.S. population.
Strategic Integration
Amazon is currently integrating pharmacies within many of its same-day delivery facilities to streamline the rollout of this service. Already available in cities like Miami, Phoenix, and Seattle, the service will expand next year to include Boston, Dallas, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and a dozen other national hotspots.
How Does the Service Work?
Amazon states that in most cases, a customer can order medication by 4 PM and receive it at their home by 10 PM using traditional delivery methods. Additionally, the company is testing prescription delivery drones in Texas.
Amazon Pharmacy: At the Heart of Health
The delivery service is available through Amazon Pharmacy, which provides free prescription shipments to Prime members. Launched in 2020, Amazon Pharmacy has significantly marked its presence in the healthcare sector. Amazon also operates a virtual health service available in all U.S. states.
Recently, the company proudly announced a doubling in the number of customers receiving prescription deliveries. This number is expected to grow further as the service reaches more cities next year.
