E-commerce giant Amazon has unveiled the latest model of its popular e-book reader, the Kindle Paperwhite. This sixth iteration features a sleeker design and a slightly larger 7-inch screen, equipped with the highest contrast ever seen in Kindle devices using oxide thin-film transistor technology.
Enhanced Performance for an Optimized Reading Experience
The redesigned Kindle Paperwhite boosts page-turning speed by 25%. It maintains its water resistance and now sports a new premium material that feels soft and comfortable. It comes in three colors – Raspberry, Jade, and Black – and offers 16GB of storage for €169.
Premium Models for Discerning Readers
Amazon continues to cater to high-end users with the Paperwhite Signature Edition. This special version offers 32GB of storage, an auto-adjusting front light, and wireless charging, available in three metallic colors at €210.
What’s New: A Color Kindle and a Note-Taking Model
Amazon has also introduced its first color Kindle, the Colorsoft, perfect for comics and colorful digital content. Promising “rich, paper-like colors” with oxide back panel display technology, it is currently available for pre-order at €290, with shipping set for October 30.
Lastly, the Kindle Scribe, a second brand reader that doubles as a note-taking tablet, will be available starting December 4, currently up for pre-order at €419.
