Chinese Digital Giant Ant Group Dives into Healthcare
Ant Group, the Chinese fintech powerhouse, is now venturing into the healthcare sector by incorporating a range of medical artificial intelligence (AI) agents modeled after top local specialists. This move highlights the rapid growth of AI in healthcare.
AI Doctor Agents Ready to Assist Patients
Last Tuesday, the company announced that nearly a hundred AI doctor agents, inspired by leading medical experts from major hospitals, are now available on its payment app Alipay. Ant Group, a subsidiary of Alibaba Group Holding which owns the South China Morning Post, is poised to dominate the health industry.
These “certified AI doctor agents” span various specialties, including tumors and chronic diseases. They are designed using Ant’s medical AI model, with each agent trained by the team of the doctor they represent.
24/7 Online Consultation Services
Users can interact with the AI doctor agents via text or audio at any time, day or night, and submit their medical reports for analysis. Besides diagnostic capabilities, these innovative agents can also schedule offline doctor appointments.
“The goal is to provide patients with reliable health advice and quick access to professional help,” stated an Alipay representative. This development marks a strategic move for Ant Group as it intensifies its focus on the healthcare industry in recent years.
