Apple Launches AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Aid Feature in the UK

Apple is expanding the hearing aid feature of the AirPods Pro 2 to the UK, enhancing user experience and making the technology more inclusive.
A Hearing Revolution: AirPods Pro 2
More than just entertainment, new technologies can also solve health issues. Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 introduces a feature called “Hearing Aid”, transforming entertainment devices into health solutions.
Deployment Across the Pond
Already available in the U.S. for months, this feature has now launched in the UK. With a simple iPhone update, your AirPods Pro 2 can double as hearing aids. This functionality, approved by the FDA in the U.S., has been tested by accredited audiologists to ensure its reliability.
British Endorsement
Prior to its UK release, Apple had the “Hearing Aid” feature scrutinized by the British Academy of Audiology. The tests confirmed that the feature’s audio tests align with established audio standards. Wes Streeting, UK Health Secretary, noted: “An estimated half of those with hearing issues do not use aids, so innovations like this could help more people effectively manage their condition.”
Warm Reception
User feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Many report immediate improvements in perceiving environmental details previously unnoticed without traditional hearing aids. To access the “Hearing Aid” function, simply navigate to the settings menu and find the hearing aid options under the AirPods Pro 2 section.
Currently, the “Hearing Aid” feature is available in the UK for AirPods Pro 2 models with USB-C. It remains to be seen whether Apple will extend this feature to other AirPod models or reserve it for future releases.
