Apple is reportedly considering the development of its own television, with OLED technology potentially being its secret weapon.

Apple: A Surprising Entry into the TV Market

The iconic tech giant Apple is considering developing a product that combines Apple Intelligence, the iPad Pro, and smart home functionality. This innovative concept might revive the idea of an Apple-branded television, an idea shelved over a decade ago.

The “Home Control Center”: A Double-Edged Innovation

According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple’s new smart home tablet concept could either make or break its television ambitions. This device would act as a central hub for future product concepts.

Apple has previously dabbled in TV technology, with Steve Jobs proposing an OLED TV project in the late 2000s. However, this was ultimately dropped in favor of leading streaming devices like the Apple TV 4K.

A Potential Shake-Up in the OLED TV Market

If Apple were to launch its innovative OLED tandem design, it could mark an exciting milestone and a rare opportunity for the company to break into a new market with something truly breathtaking. It could potentially offer one of the best TVs on the market.

This move could introduce serious new competition in the OLED market, currently dominated by giants like Samsung, LG, and Sony. Apple’s smart OLED TV might feature an integrated tvOS in a tandem OLED panel design with nano-texture enhancements, similar to those seen on the M4 MacBook Pro, to minimize screen glare.

Apple’s Project: Still in the Conceptual Stage

It’s important to note that Apple’s television screen is still in the conceptual and early development phases, with the company currently focusing on designing a new smart home tablet. However, this TV concept positions Apple as a potential strong competitor against brands like Samsung and LG.

“If the first device fails, Apple may need to rethink its smart home ambitions once again,” warns Mark Gurman.
