Apple Now Offers Replacement Parts for iPhone 16 Series

You can obtain them through the company's self-service repair service.
A New Era for Apple Users
Technology enthusiasts often lament the planned obsolescence of electronic devices. In a bold move, Apple, known for its annual product launches every September, now allows users to repair their devices. The company has introduced parts and tools for the iPhone 16, including the Plus, Pro, and Pro Max models.
How Does This New Service Work?
If your iPhone 16 is experiencing issues, you can now visit Apple’s self-service repair store to find the necessary components to fix it. Simply select the product type and model, then choose from iPhone 16 parts such as the rear glass, battery, camera, top speaker, TrueDepth camera, SIM card tray, and more. According to iFixit, the iPhone 16 scores a 7/10 on the repairability scale, an improvement from the 4/10 score of the iPhone 15.
The Cost of DIY Repairs
You can purchase entire kits or just the part you need, with prices varying by phone model. For instance, a battery and screws kit for the iPhone 16 Pro Max is priced at $119, but only $99 for the standard iPhone 16. You can reclaim much of the kit’s cost if you return the replaced part afterward. For example, the price for an iPhone 16 Pro Max kit drops to $61.88 after returning the old battery.
A Service for Tech Enthusiasts
Apple introduced its self-repair program in 2022, providing customers with access to genuine Apple parts when their device malfunctions. However, Apple notes that this service is “intended for individuals with the knowledge and experience needed to repair electronic devices.” Therefore, the repairs might not be as accessible if you or someone you know lacks these skills.
