Major Update Planned to Boost Sales
Addressing the slump, Apple plans a significant software update, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The upcoming visionOS 2.4 update, which includes new features, is set for a beta release this week and a full release in April. It introduces Apple Intelligence, a generative AI previously exclusive to the latest iPhones, iPads, and Macs, now supported by Vision Pro’s M2 chip and 16GB RAM.
New Features Aim to Entice Consumers
Beyond AI integration, Apple is unveiling more innovations to spark consumer interest. These include a new app for viewing spatial content and an immersive video on Arctic surfing set for release on February 21. Additionally, a revamped guest mode will allow device sharing among multiple users, potentially boosting sales by exciting user circles.
Are These Efforts Enough to Revitalize Apple Vision Pro?
Despite these promising additions, the high cost of Apple Vision Pro remains a significant barrier. While the ability to share the device might attract some new customers, it’s unlikely to drastically alter its market standing. Moreover, the new AI features, while intriguing, may not be compelling enough for consumers, especially since many early adopters are already well-integrated into the Apple ecosystem and have access to similar features on other devices.
