The versatility of puff pastry
Puff pastry is an incredibly versatile base for making tasty appetizers. Inspired by Lesudatable, a culinary influencer on Instagram, Sylvia Mareuse offers us three fillings: tuna, candied vegetables, and smoked salmon.
The recipe for little puff pastries
Ingredients: two puff pastries, one egg yolk, a box of cream cheese like St Môret, a can of tuna, olive oil, a shallot, a few sprigs of chives, two slices of smoked salmon, half a lemon, a few sprigs of dill, five sun-dried tomatoes, five artichoke hearts, a teaspoon of oregano, a pinch of Espelette pepper, twenty grams of white and black sesame seeds, salt and pepper.
Preparation: preheat the oven to 180 °C, cut out circles in the puff pastry, brush them with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the fillings by mixing the cream cheese with the ingredients for each recipe. Once baked, fill the pastries with each filling.
Adapt the recipe to your desires
Show creativity by adapting these recipes to your tastes. Replace St Môret with another cream cheese of your choice, smoked salmon with smoked trout, and sesame seeds with poppy seeds. Whatever variation you choose, always opt for a “pure butter” puff pastry.
