CTO and TDF: A Partnership for Enhanced Space-Based Telecom Connectivity

By integrating 5G with VLEO satellites, CTO and TDF are pioneering a new era of connectivity, strategically enhancing the resilience and accessibility of telecom networks.
Strategic Alliance for Enhanced Space Connectivity
Constellation Technologies & Operations (CTO) and TDF, two leading players in the telecommunications field, have recently formalized a new alliance aimed at developing space connectivity for telecom operators.
A Common Goal: Enhancing Connectivity Resilience
This partnership seeks to offer telecom operators hybrid connectivity that merges 5G spectrum and VLEO (Very Low Earth Orbit) satellites. By proposing a neutral space infrastructure based on VLEO satellites, CTO aims to provide telecom operators with an effective means to expand network coverage without heavy investments.
TDF, with its expertise in managing terrestrial infrastructures, joins this vision to expand its scope and meet the demands of an ever-evolving market.
A Technological Alliance for Future Connectivity
This tech partnership is built on a precise combination of expertise. CTO contributes with its advancements in 5G spectrum-utilizing VLEO satellites, ensuring high-speed, low-latency internet access from space. TDF, on the other hand, brings its knowledge in infrastructure hosting, antenna management, and support.
The agreement also includes the development of emergency satellite connectivity solutions, a measure aimed at maintaining communication continuity in extreme circumstances, such as natural disasters or major crises.
A Crucial Step for Both Parties
Charles Delfieux, CEO of CTO, states, “Accessing the internet from space is a new frontier for telecom operators.” Meanwhile, Roland Chedlivili, Co-General Manager BU TowerCo at TDF, asserts, “With this partnership, TDF takes a significant step by integrating space innovations into our connectivity expertise.”
This agreement underscores the ambition of both entities to meet future telecommunication challenges and strive for universal connectivity.
