Elon Musk: AI Revolutionizing the Gaming Industry with Hasbro
Elon Musk is considering buying Hasbro to obtain the Dungeons & Dragons rights and to revolutionize the gaming industry using artificial intelligence.
Elon Musk Considers Acquiring Hasbro
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is once again stirring the stock market. Last Friday, shares of toy maker Hasbro surged following rumors of Musk’s interest in acquiring the company, primarily for the rights to the popular “Dungeons & Dragons” franchise.
A New Challenge: The Video Game Realm
A known video game enthusiast, Elon Musk has previously boasted on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast about ranking among the top 20 players worldwide in Diablo 4. He now appears poised to venture into video game production.
Harsh Criticism Toward Hasbro
On November 27, Musk responded to a complaint on his social media platform X about “manipulative” practices in the video game industry. He criticized game studios owned by large corporations and announced plans to create an AI-integrated video game studio called “xAI.”
Regarding the “Dungeons & Dragons” rights, Musk has specifically targeted Hasbro and its division “Wizards of The Coast.” He accused them of betraying the original spirit of D&D creators, including Gary Gygax, by shifting towards a more politically correct narrative over time. Musk expressed his frustration, stating, “What the hell is going on with Hasbro and WOTC [Wizards of The Coast]?? May they burn in hell.”
Musk’s potential acquisition of Hasbro could not only secure the rights to Dungeons & Dragons but also to other popular game franchises like Transformers, My Little Pony, Nerf, and Monopoly. Hasbro’s success with video games, particularly the over $90 million generated by Baldur’s Gate 3, has not only pleased the market but also caught the eye of ambitious figures like Elon Musk.
