President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, surprised many by appointing Elon Musk, the wealthiest man on the planet, to lead a brand-new department focused on “governmental efficiency.”

A Ministry to Boost Governmental Efficiency

Musk, famed as the “boss of Tesla and SpaceX”, is expected to inject a fresh and dynamic approach to the American administration according to Trump. Businessman and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy will also play a key role in this initiative.

Their task will be to “chart a course for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excessive regulations, cut unnecessary spending, and restructure federal agencies,” as per Donald Trump’s statement.

A Promised Systemic Shock

The President-elect, not waiting for his inauguration to unveil his administration’s lineup, promises that these two allies will “send shockwaves through the system.”

Musk has pledged that the actions of the ministry will be listed online for “maximum transparency” and also plans to publish a “ranking of the most outrageously stupid expenditures”, noting it will be “both extremely tragic and extremely entertaining.”

A Peaceful and Orderly Change of Power

These announcements come just hours before Donald Trump’s meeting with the outgoing President Joe Biden, who has assured a “peaceful and orderly” transfer of power.
