Witnesses report that the fire started around 9 PM in one of the wheel’s gondolas and quickly spread. “We were about 100 or 150 meters away and saw the Ferris wheel ablaze,” shared an onlooker.

The Injured and First Responders

Among the victims are four police officers who were hospitalized with suspected smoke inhalation.

While most injuries were minor, the German Red Cross reported that at least two individuals suffered more severe conditions. Others sustained burns, and one person was injured in a fall.
