Gmail Set to Launch Gemini Smart Replies: What You Need to Know
Starting September 26, Gemini will be available in Gmail, enhancing the platform's functionality.
Google Transforms Gmail with Artificial Intelligence
Google has recently unveiled a significant upgrade to its Gmail app by incorporating its artificial intelligence, Gemini, to enhance the smart reply experience. This technological breakthrough is set to change how we handle our emails.
Gemini: A Smarter, More Context-Aware Response System
Since its launch in 2017, Gmail’s smart reply feature provided quick and basic responses like “yes”, “no”, or “maybe”. Now, the tech giant is taking it to the next level. With Gemini, responses will not only be more elaborate but also more contextually aligned with the original message.
In a recent announcement, Google demonstrated how Gemini would enhance this feature. Responses generated by Gemini will be displayed at the bottom of the email, allowing users to preview, select, and quickly edit them as desired. “The major change with this model is that Gemini will scan the email and tailor responses to better match the context of the original message.”
A More Personal Experience with Google Photos
But that’s not all. In an effort to make our interactions with applications more personal, Google also revealed that Gemini will be used to narrate our memories in Google Photos. Additionally, it will provide enhanced control over the characters appearing in our memories.
Google plans to roll out this new feature soon, with availability from September 26 for all Google Workspace customers with Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, and Google One AI Premium add-ons.
Despite the enhancements to the quick reply function, it is still advisable to carefully review your emails before sending them.
