Google Photos Video Editor Enhanced with AI

New cutting tools and speed control features have been introduced. Do these enhancements improve your video editing experience?
Google Photos Unveils Enhanced Video Editor
Google has recently rolled out a new update for its Google Photos app on both Android and iOS platforms. This update primarily enhances the app’s video editor by introducing new features, as detailed on the app’s support page.
AI-Powered Video Presets
The highlight of this update is the debut of “AI-powered video presets.” Located below the video timeline, these presets enable users to automatically adjust video length, lighting, speed, and apply innovative effects with just a few clicks. Notable among these effects are motion tracking, automatic zoom, and slow motion.
Ongoing Improvement Through AI
Google’s integration of artificial intelligence into Google Photos isn’t new. In May, the Mountain View company introduced “Ask Photos,” a Gemini-powered chatbot that facilitates more detailed and conversational photo searches for U.S. users.
Android-Specific Features
Beyond the AI-powered presets, Google has also introduced several Android-specific enhancements. These include a new cropping tool with improved controls for more precise edits, a novel “auto enhance” feature for automatic color improvement and video stabilization, and a new “speed” tool to either speed up or slow down video playback.
The rollout of these new features starts today. Stay tuned!
