iPhone 16: Apple’s Latest Tech from €719

Discover the new iPhone 16e, now available for just $599. It features Apple's signature intelligence, offering an unparalleled tech experience.
Apple Unveils iPhone 16e: The Budget-Friendly Addition to the iPhone Family
After a three-year hiatus, Apple has finally introduced its new entry-level smartphone. The iPhone 16e, a successor to the iPhone SE, is a significant upgrade, mirroring the design of the iPhone 14 while featuring notable enhancements, including an updated processor ready for Apple Intelligence. Priced from $599, it is the most affordable AI-equipped iPhone, saving users $300.
Modernized Design and Enhanced Features
As rumored, the fourth-generation iPhone 16e resembles the standard 2023 model, the iPhone 14. It’s the first entry-level model to adopt the full-screen iPhone design, incorporating Face ID for the first time. The 16e features a 6.1-inch screen, the largest ever on a budget model, but retains the iconic notch found on premium models from 2017 to 2022.
The iPhone 16e boasts an advanced camera system with a 48MP Fusion camera, capturing highly detailed shots in Night or Portrait modes. Its 2x built-in telephoto lens offers precise optical zoom, while the TrueDepth front camera ensures sharp selfies. With new HDR technology, photos achieve natural color tones and perfect light-contrast balance.
Apple Intelligence Coming to France in April
The iPhone 16e integrates Apple Intelligence, offering advanced features (image correction, photo search, Genmoji) and an enhanced Siri. ChatGPT integration ensures data protection, with guaranteed privacy through local processing and Private Cloud Compute.
Initially available in English in select countries, Apple Intelligence will add more languages in April, including German, English (India and Singapore), Simplified Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Distinctive External Details
Some external details differentiate it from the iPhone 14. It features a USB-C port instead of the Lightning port, and like earlier iPhone SE models, it has a single rear camera lens. However, this “2-in-1” 48MP lens includes a built-in 2x zoom capability, a significant improvement over the last SE. The iPhone 16e is IP68 certified, ensuring resistance to splashes, water, and dust. It can withstand immersion up to 6 meters for 30 minutes under controlled conditions.
The iPhone 16e allows users to stay connected and get help in critical moments. Apple’s satellite features enable text messaging via satellite when there’s no mobile or Wi-Fi network available. These features include Satellite Messages for texting loved ones, Emergency SOS via satellite to contact rescuers, and Satellite Roadside Assistance for car troubles.
A18 Chip for Optimal Performance
A major difference lies inside, where the A18 chip resides—the same one powering the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. In addition to fast and smooth performance, the A18 supports Apple Intelligence, now activated by default. Enjoy Apple’s generative AI writing tools, Genmoji, Image Playground, Visual Intelligence, ChatGPT integration, and recently updated notification summaries—all in an iPhone under $600. A great deal for enthusiasts.
The new iPhone SE is available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models and can be pre-ordered starting February 21, with deliveries beginning on February 28 starting at 719 €.
