Leaked Pixel 10 Pro Fold: A Familiar-Looking Foldable Emerges
Newly released images of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold show a foldable smartphone with a design that strongly resembles other well-known models in the market.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: An Early Revelation
Reports suggest the Google Pixel 10 is set to hit the market later this year, yet details on its launch companions remain scarce. However, the eagerly anticipated Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold has had some of its key features leaked recently.
The specialized site Android Headlines, in collaboration with OnLeaks, has released renders from leaked CAD files. It’s worth noting that OnLeaks has built a stellar reputation over the years through this approach. Thus, these images could very well be our most accurate glimpse of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold before the official marketing material is released.
A Familiar Design for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold
What can we expect from this new foldable smartphone? The first noticeable feature is that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold bears a strong resemblance to its predecessor, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It retains the same camera bump, rounded corners at the hinge, and the same style of selfie camera on both screens.
Android Headlines reports that the phone would measure 155.2 x 150.4 x 5.3mm, dimensions nearly identical to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, with only fractions of a millimeter in difference.
High Expectations for the New Model
Though the dimension changes are minimal, they are confirmed. It’s hard to imagine that this slight 0.2mm difference will significantly impact the final product. Users of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold may find solace in potentially continuing to use their existing accessories and cases with the new model.
However, those hoping for a design overhaul in the foldable version might be disappointed. “We live in a world where foldable phones are so thin they’re barely thicker than a USB-C port”, it’s noted. But satisfaction might come if Google addresses some of the more significant issues of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Last year’s model drew criticism for minor camera improvements, slower charging compared to the original Pixel Fold, and subpar performance from the Tensor G4 chipset. Rumors aren’t too optimistic about fixes with the Tensor G5 or G6 either. We might have to wait a bit longer for more details. If the release of the Pixel 9 is any indicator of Google’s future plans, we should expect the Pixel 10 Pro Fold to debut in August, alongside the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL.
