Lost Your Earbuds? Sony Integrates Find My to Keep Track

Sony's latest updates make it much harder to lose your earbuds by introducing new features.
Wireless Earbuds: A Convenience and A Conundrum
While wireless earbuds are undeniably convenient and portable, they come with a significant downside: they are incredibly easy to lose. Whether it’s the earbuds themselves or their increasingly tiny cases designed to fit into bags and pockets, these small tech gadgets often vanish in the most unlikely places.
Never Lose Your Earbuds Again!
However, losing your earbuds doesn’t have to be inevitable. Owners of the AirPods Pro 2 and the latest AirPods 4 with ANC are well aware. Thanks to Apple’s Find My feature, they can pinpoint their earbuds, even in the hardest-to-reach spots, using just their phone’s screen. Imagine never losing your earbuds in the couch cushions or under the bed again.
Sony has also stepped up, making its top-tier models WF-1000XM5, WH-1000XM5, and LinkBuds S nearly as loss-proof as the AirPods Pro 2 by incorporating support for Google’s version of Find My. This means you can now locate your Sony earbuds using your phone if you forget where you left them.
Sony Raises the Bar
But Sony doesn’t stop at just enhancing its products. The company has announced several updates making some of our favorite earphones and headsets even better. For instance, Google Fast Pair is coming soon to earbuds near you, making connecting them to your Android smartphone easier than ever. This update also introduces the Auto Switch feature to the WF-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM5, allowing you to pick up where you left off on your new LinkBuds speaker.
Simply visit the Sony Sound Connect app and download the updates for your earbuds. Note that you must have Android 9.0 or later, and Apple users need iOS 16 or later to get the update.
In summary, whether you’re an Apple or Sony user, you no longer need to worry about losing your precious earbuds. And with Sony’s new updates, your earbuds are not only easier to find but also better performing than ever.
