MH370 Search Resumes, 11 Years After Its Mysterious Disappearance

Over a decade since the mysterious disappearance of flight MH370, search efforts have resumed, sparking new hope of unraveling one of modern aviation's greatest mysteries.
A Glimmer of Hope for Flight MH370
Announced last December, the renewed search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which vanished in 2014, is now a reality. The maritime exploration firm Ocean Infinity is spearheading this critical mission.
Ocean Infinity’s Resolve
On February 25, 2025, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed the resumption of the search. He praised “Ocean Infinity’s initiative to deploy its ships” to renew the investigation of the Boeing 777, which disappeared from radar on March 8, 2014, with 239 onboard, including 153 Chinese nationals.
Green Light from the Malaysian Government
At the end of December, the Malaysian government approved the launch of new searches, a decade after the plane’s mysterious disappearance. The government accepted “in principle Ocean Infinity’s proposal” to conduct investigations in a new 15,000 square kilometer area in the southern Indian Ocean.
Despite extensive searches conducted after the disaster, described as the most significant in aviation history, the aircraft has never been found. The duration of this new investigation has not been specified by the Malaysian minister.
An Endless Quest?
The resumption of the search by Ocean Infinity brings a ray of hope. While details on the duration of these new investigations remain undisclosed, the commitment of this maritime company might finally help unravel the decade-long mystery.
