Microsoft Copilot underwent a major overhaul in its latest update, introducing a ChatGPT-like voice feature, enhanced vision capabilities, and more.
Microsoft, a tech titan, has begun rolling out updates for its AI platform, Copilot, integrated into Windows 11. These updates introduce several new features and improvements, solidifying Microsoft’s stance in the competitive AI landscape.
Innovative Features
The Copilot platform now includes advanced capabilities such as Voice and Vision for more natural interactions, enhanced Windows search, detailed responses to queries, and much more. Copilot+ PCs are also set to receive various updates this fall.
The revamped Copilot app introduces notable features:
- Copilot Voice allows for smoother, more natural conversations with AI. Users can even interrupt the chatbot to redirect the conversation.
- Copilot Daily provides a summary of news and weather to start the day right.
- Think Deeper assists users in tackling complex issues, such as choosing a new city to move to or the type of car that best suits their needs.
In Development Phase
Additional features like Copilot Vision are still under development. Integrated natively in the Microsoft Edge browser, this feature can visualize and interact in real-time with the content displayed on the user’s screen.
Enhanced Copilot+ PCs
This fall, Copilot+ PCs will receive updates aimed at streamlining tasks and providing a more personalized experience through AI. This applies to existing Copilot+ computers equipped with Snapdragon X Plus and Snapdragon X Elite, as well as upcoming laptops with Intel Lunar Lake and AMD Ryzen AI 300 processors.
Microsoft appears to promise a bright future for its AI platform Copilot. However, the effectiveness of these new features compared to existing AI programs remains to be seen.
