Motorola Strives to Make Foldable Phones More Affordable
In response to the scarcity and high cost of foldable phones in the market, Motorola is working on lowering the prices of its Razr phones, potentially introducing a more budget-friendly option soon.

According to OnLeaks, Motorola plans to unveil the Motorola Razr 50s this week. This model appears to be an incremental update to the Motorola Razr 50, also known as the Motorola Razr 2024 in the US, which is priced at $699 / £699 and is among the most affordable foldable phones available. However, it remains to be seen how this new handset will differentiate from its predecessor, as the specifications seem nearly identical.

Technical Specifications
OnLeaks reports that the phone will feature a 6.9-inch foldable display and a 3.6-inch cover display, both matching the resolutions of the Razr 2024 screens. It is also expected to run on the Dimensity 7300X chipset, with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and a 4200 mAh battery.
The camera details are less clear, though OnLeaks notes a 50MP and 32MP lens setup. If the 32MP is an ultra-wide lens, it would be a significant upgrade from the 13MP lens of the Razr 2024. The dimensions, weight, and IPX8 water resistance seem to be the same as the Razr 2024.
A Special Version for Japan?
There might be additional features or enhancements not reflected in the hardware specs. Rumors suggest a specialized version for Japanese carrier Softbank, requiring a completely new phone variant with a distinct name due to a “quite strange set of LTE and 5G bands.” All eyes are on September 27, the date OnLeaks claims the phone will be revealed.
