Apple’s App Store Awards
Choosing the best iPhone apps can be overwhelming due to the millions available, with new ones launching daily. Thankfully, Apple’s App Store Awards highlight the gems among the multitude.
App Store Awards Finalists
Apple has recently unveiled this year’s finalists, with 45 applications and games deemed “exceptional”. These nominees represent “the pinnacle of user experience, design, and innovation on the App Store” across 12 different categories, spanning Apple’s entire product portfolio. For the first time, Vision Pro apps are included following last spring’s launch of the spatial computing headset. The winners’ announcement date will be disclosed “in the coming weeks”. Meanwhile, here are some of the nominees.
The Nominees
Among the finalists for the best iPhone app are Kino, a Pro video app filled with tools and presets for optimal video creation; Runna, offering personalized training plans for runners at all levels; and Tripsy, an app for organizing travel itineraries. In the iPhone games category, the nominees include the strategic role-playing game AFK Journey, set in a magical, monster-filled world, and The WereCleaner, where you play a janitor who must complete shifts without revealing his werewolf identity.
Cultural Impact of Apps
In the “Cultural Impact” category, nominees have delivered compelling stories and helped users unlock their best selves, creating lasting impacts. Noteworthy are Arco, a tactical RPG where your choices influence the unfolding narrative, and The Bear, an interactive bedtime story guiding the titular bear on a friendship-forming journey. A special mention goes to Better Sleep, a white noise app that plays various sounds to enhance sleep while tracking and recording your night activities.
