Nintendo Launches Music Streaming Service for Switch Online Subscribers
They can now listen to the soundtracks of their video games directly on their phones.
A Symphony for Nintendo Game Enthusiasts
In an effort to charm both music lovers and gamers, Nintendo has launched its own music streaming service. This platform is tailored for fans of iconic games like Mario and Animal Crossing.
Like Spotify, But With a Nintendo Twist
The user interface of the new service, named Nintendo Music, mirrors that of Spotify, allowing fans to stream their favorite tracks on their phones. The music is organized by game, enabling users to fully experience the original soundtracks of specific titles. Additionally, character playlists are available, including selections like K.K. Slider tunes from Animal Crossing.
Playlists for Every Mood and a Unique Feature
Users in the mood for specific themes can opt for pre-made playlists that include tracks for “boss battles” or “victory” moments. Mood playlists are also offered, grouping similar vibes like soothing songs for bedtime listening. A standout feature is spoiler prevention; the app will hide soundtracks that could reveal major plot twists or final bosses if those games are marked in the settings. Users can also loop a single track for up to an hour.
How to Access This New Service
Fans can subscribe to the Nintendo Music service via a Switch Online membership. They can start streaming game tracks even during a free trial period. Each member of a Switch Online family subscription can access the service without needing an individual subscription.
