North Korea: Kim Jong-un Deploys 250 Missile Launchers to Border

For the first time, Pyongyang has publicly disclosed the number of weapons stationed along its borders.
Tensions Rise at the Inter-Korean Border
Tensions continue unabated at the border between North Korea and South Korea. On Monday, August 5, Pyongyang confirmed it had stationed 250 state-of-the-art missile launchers along the inter-Korean border, as reported by the state-run KCNA news agency.
This move highlights a deterioration in relations between the two countries.
Tactical Armament under Kim Jong Un’s Leadership
In a ceremony held in Pyongyang, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un stated that he personally oversaw the development of these missile launchers.
Described as “updated tactical attack weapons,” these launchers further bolster North Korea’s military capabilities.
Seoul Intensifies Its Propaganda Efforts
Meanwhile, Seoul has intensified its anti-Kim Jong-un propaganda campaign. Sound broadcasts condemning the North Korean regime are once again being played at the border, adding to the ongoing tension.
Persistent Tensions
The situation between the two Koreas remains alarming. Despite the end of armed conflict in 1953, tensions continue, partly due to the absence of a peace treaty. In recent months, balloons carrying waste from the North and anti-Kim propaganda from the South have been crossing the border, symbolizing this enduring antagonism.
