The integration process is currently being rolled out on a global scale.

Instagram and Spotify Join Forces for an Enhanced Music Experience

As a seasoned news journalist, I am excited to share a digital innovation that is setting the stage for a richer musical journey. Instagram, the renowned photo and video sharing app, is rolling out an integration with Spotify, the leading audio streaming platform. This new feature allows users to seamlessly add songs they encounter on Instagram posts and Reels directly to Spotify.

How Does It Work?

The process is straightforward. When an Instagram post features a song indicated at the bottom of the screen, simply tap on the song name to open its audio preview page. There, you’ll find a new “Add” button adorned with the Spotify logo next to the audio scroll bar. By clicking this button, the song is instantly saved to your “Liked Songs” in your Spotify library.

A Feature in Development

Initially, you’ll need to link your Spotify account to your Instagram account. After this one-time setup, adding songs becomes a single-click process. According to 9to5Mac, this feature is currently being made available to users worldwide.

Instagram Keeps Up with the Trend

It’s noteworthy that TikTok, a major competitor of Instagram, has already been offering a similar feature since last year, which includes integration not just with Spotify, but also with Apple Music and Amazon Music. Instagram’s new tie-up with Spotify appears to be a strategic move to counter this trend and enhance the musical experience for its users.
