Rumors suggest that the Oppo Find N5 and its Western counterpart, the OnePlus Open 2, might become the thinnest foldable phones on the market. This technological breakthrough could revolutionize the foldable smartphone landscape, currently dominated by giants like Samsung.

A Crease-Free Screen to Outshine Competitors

One of the most exciting features of these new models is the promise of a crease-free display. Pete Lau, OnePlus co-founder and Oppo Product Director, teased this feature in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating playfully, “No crease detected”. Although a slight crease is visible on the OnePlus Open 2, it is considerably less noticeable than that of its competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Expected Improvements for the OnePlus Open 2

The OnePlus Open 2 also promises several significant upgrades, including the integration of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, a 50MP main camera, certified IP water resistance, and the return of the classic OnePlus alert slider. Additionally, it might feature an impressive 6000 mAh battery, a notable feat for a foldable phone with limited internal space.
