A Stellar Year for Oppo in 2024
Oppo had a remarkable year in 2024, highlighted by the OnePlus Open being named the best foldable phone and the OnePlus 13 and 13R receiving rave reviews. The company’s next challenge? Launching the Oppo Find N5, potentially the Chinese market version of the OnePlus Open 2.
Key Features of Oppo’s Upcoming Foldable Phone
Anticipation is high for Oppo’s next foldable phone, especially regarding its slimness. A clue has emerged from Notebookcheck. Billy Zhang, Oppo’s International Marketing President, recently posted an image comparing the Oppo Find N5 with the iPad Pro M4. The image reveals that the Find N5 is about half as thick as the 5.1 mm iPad Pro.
As for the OnePlus Open 2, speculation is rife about its thinness. A recent leak suggests major hardware upgrades, including a new titanium frame and ultra-slim design, potentially reaching a folded thickness of 9.1 mm—thicker than the iPad but impressively thin for a foldable device.
Potential Delay in the Launch of the OnePlus Open 2
However, there’s possible disappointing news for fans. Originally expected in early 2025, the OnePlus Open 2 might now launch in the second half of the year, anytime between July 1 and the end of 2025. Despite this, the phone could feature a robust 6000 mAh battery, similar to the OnePlus 13.
While many details about the OnePlus Open 2 are still up in the air, we may need to wait a bit longer for an official confirmation. Nonetheless, given the source of the leak, the OnePlus Open 2 could potentially be the thinnest foldable phone yet.
