Samsung Finally Launches Stable One UI 7: Find Out When Your Phone Will Update

Samsung's latest One UI 7 update is now stable and ready for rollout. Find out when it will be available on your phone.
Anticipated Update: Samsung’s One UI 7
After several delays, Samsung has finally set a release date for One UI 7, their operating system based on Android 15, designed for their legacy devices. According to a press release on Samsung’s news site, the update will start rolling out on April 7 for Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 models.
Which Devices Will Receive the Update?
While Samsung has not provided a schedule for other devices, it has named the next ones in line. Owners of the following devices can expect the One UI 7 update soon:
Galaxy S24 FE
S23 FE
Z Fold 5
Z Flip 5
Tab S10
Tab S9
Devices from the Galaxy S21 and S22 series are also expected to be eligible, given Samsung’s promise of four years of platform updates. However, the slow rollout so far does not inspire optimism for a swift update.
What Does This Update Bring?
Alongside integrating features introduced by Google in Android 15, the One UI update adds several Samsung-specific enhancements. These include a “simplified home screen” and “redesigned One UI widgets,” as well as the Now Bar, which delivers “important real-time updates directly on the lock screen.”
Most notably, the update brings AI enhancements previously exclusive to the flagship Galaxy S25 series. The Writing Assist feature helps summarize or format text content, Drawing Assist can instantly generate images from text or your own sketches, and Audio Eraser isolates and removes unwanted noise from videos.
A Long Road Traveled
The journey to this point has been lengthy, with work on One UI 7 reportedly starting in May of last year. Indeed, Android 15 has been available on Google Pixel phones since October 15, yet rumors of delays with Samsung’s implementation of One UI 7 had already surfaced. These delays echo the old days when Samsung devices took months to update to new Android versions. Hopefully, One UI 8 will set Samsung back on the right track.
