Samsung Galaxy S25’s Key Weapon Against iPhone 16 Revealed

The key feature that sets the Samsung Galaxy S25 apart from the iPhone 16 has just been unveiled.
Journey to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
Qualcomm, the renowned chipmaker, is poised to unveil its next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 at the upcoming annual summit. However, this hasn’t stopped the flow of leaks.
Revealing Leaks
The latest leak, sourced by notable leaker Jukanloseve via the Chinese site Baidu and spotted by Android Central, reveals two variants of the new processor: SM8750 and SM8750P. The key detail is that the P variant might not support mmWave and sub-6 5G technologies.
Another significant detail is that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to continue supporting current LPDDR5 RAM, not LPDDR6 as previously speculated.

A Focus on AI and Performance
The new chip will feature an Oryon CPU and a Tensor Hexagon processor, designed to handle “AI use cases”, continuing Qualcomm’s focus on AI technology from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The leaked spec sheets also show that the CPU will include an Adreno 8-series GPU, supporting resolutions up to 3840×2560 and a refresh rate of 144Hz, and an Adreno 8-series VPU capable of 8K video processing.
Promising Preliminary Tests
Preliminary evaluations of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 on Geekbench, conducted with the OnePlus 13 and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, showed enhanced performance, though slightly below the recent iPhone 16’s A18 chips.
The suspense will soon be over. The Qualcomm 2024 summit, scheduled for October 21-23, is expected to confirm these specifications. It remains to be seen whether these leaks will hold true and if the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 meets user expectations.
