Samsung Nearly Eliminates Crease in Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE

Samsung has successfully minimized the crease on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE, making it nearly imperceptible.

Special Edition Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Unveiled

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition (SE), also known as W25 in China, is unlikely to hit the US or European markets. However, its enhancements over the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6, released earlier this year, may well be incorporated into Samsung’s next foldable model.

Major Improvements

The standout feature of this special edition is its slimmer frame. Yet, the most talked-about upgrade is the screen fold. Typically a visible crease on previous models, especially against a light background, the fold appears significantly refined in this new iteration.

Revolutionary Screen Technology

Leaks about Samsung suggested in early October that the company had enhanced the screen’s fold. “This time, [Samsung has] really nailed the fold control, better than ever,” stated leaker Ice Universe. Display analyst Ross Young responded to this claim, attributing the improvement to the first-time use of UFG, or “ultra-flexible glass”.

Another informant, Jukanlosreve, claimed that UFG is more durable than UTG (ultra-thin glass) and allows for a flatter screen. Until now, Samsung had been using UTG in its foldable displays.

Future Enhancements

While the W25 may not be sold outside of China or South Korea, it’s hard to imagine Samsung not implementing these improvements in the Galaxy Z Fold 7, slated for release next year. The Z Fold 6 SE could be a trial for the Korean company, testing UFG screens and assessing what can be achieved before a broader global launch.
