SDC24: Samsung Celebrates a Decade of Conferences Highlighting AI Innovation

AI for Everyone: Samsung’s Vision
At the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC), Samsung Electronics unveiled its long-term vision of making artificial intelligence (AI) universally accessible and integral to every facet of consumer life.
Samsung illustrated how smarter multi-device AI usage could enhance user experiences. Jong-Hee (JH) Han, Vice President and CEO of Samsung’s Device eXperience division, emphasized, “We will continue to advance AI technology to recognize each user and provide a more tailored experience”.
One UI: A New Unified Experience
Starting next year, Samsung’s flagship products—including mobiles, TVs, and home appliances—will feature a unified software experience called One UI. The company plans software updates that could extend up to seven years to continually refresh user experiences.
SmartThings: Innovation through Collaboration
SmartThings, one of the largest connected platforms with over 350 million users and more than 340 partners, is integrating AI and expanding into new areas like health. New partnerships include one with the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), making Samsung SmartThings the first service to adopt the Matter 1.3 standard.
Security and Privacy
Samsung reaffirms its commitment to high security and privacy standards. With Samsung Knox, the company promises to protect personal data as AI becomes increasingly prevalent in user experiences.
