Withings has upgraded its blood pressure monitoring device, adding a new cardiovascular control feature to enhance heart health management.
A Leap Forward in Connected Health
Withings, a French company specializing in connected health products, made waves at CES with an update to its blood pressure monitor and a new feature aimed at heart health preservation. The new product, named BPM Vision, is designed as a tabletop blood pressure monitor for home use. It features a large color display which, the company promises, will simplify the understanding of displayed data.
A Significant Design Shift
Like its predecessors, the BPM Vision connects to Wi-Fi for instant data transfer to its cloud platform. However, Withings has broken with tradition by opting for a tabletop design with a connected cuff, moving away from the all-in-one cuff design seen in BPM Connect and BPM Core. This design shift likely stems from readability concerns, as a cuff attached to the arm can make screen reading challenging.
Heart Check-Up at Your Fingertips
Additionally, Withings is launching Cardio Check-Up, a service that allows users to receive feedback on their cardiac health from a certified cardiologist. Withings+ subscribers in the USA, France, and Germany can send their readings to a doctor every 90 days. Health professionals will review the data and ensure there are no concerns, with a promise of a response within 24 hours.
Early detection of cardiovascular diseases: Identifies atrial fibrillation (AFib) and over 10 other arrhythmias.
Convenience and accessibility: Clinical analyses without appointments, directly from home, within 24 hours.
Quarterly assessments: Up to 4 analyses per year included in the Withings+ subscription.
Privacy and security: Data management adheres to the strictest confidentiality standards.
Availability and Accessibility
The BPM Vision is set to be available in the USA from April 2025, priced at $129.95, pending usual FDA approval. The Cardio Check-Up service is already available for Withings+ subscribers with either an annual or monthly payment plan. The world of wearable technologies thus welcomes a new player, aiming to make health more accessible and understandable for everyone.
