SpaceX Prepares Manned Flight Over Earth’s Poles

On its initial mission, lasting three to five days, the spacecraft will carry four passengers on an unprecedented journey over the poles, potentially unveiling the secrets hidden in these remote regions.
A New Chapter in Space Exploration
In a pioneering high-atmosphere initiative, cryptocurrency magnate Chun Wang is funding a private space mission through SpaceX, set to launch by year’s end.
The Private Aspect of Space Tourism
Named Fram2, after a polar exploration ship, this mission marks a significant progression in the burgeoning field of private space tourism in the U.S. Four individuals, including Chun Wang, will spend three to five days in a SpaceX Dragon capsule, reaching altitudes of 425 to 450 km.
A New Era with a Diverse Crew
Described by SpaceX as a “Maltese adventurer”, Chun Wang has recently acquired this nationality. The rest of the crew includes Norwegian filmmaker Jannicke Mikkelsen, Australian polar explorer Éric Philips, and German robotics researcher Rabea Rogge.
A Technologically Advanced Mission
“I have eagerly awaited this mission for two and a half years,” says Chun Wang, emphasizing that “A new chapter in space exploration is unfolding before our eyes.” This mission will be the first crewed one to fly over the Earth’s poles and includes planned scientific observations, such as capturing the first space radiography images.
