Spotify Supercharged by Massive Gemini AI Upgrade Ahead of Unwrapped Event
Spotify has just upgraded its artificial intelligence with Gemini, perfectly timing it for the highly anticipated Spotify Unwrapped event.
Google and Spotify Team Up for an Enhanced Music Experience
Spotify and Android users will be excited to hear that Google has now integrated Spotify into Gemini, one of the most advanced AI chatbots available. A Google support page has confirmed that this new feature is ready for use.
Integration at Your Fingertips
This partnership between Google and Spotify mirrors the integration seen with YouTube Music. Instead of opening the Spotify app and searching for music, you can simply ask Gemini to handle it. Whether you’re looking for a specific song or album or want to browse an artist’s catalog, Gemini will do the searching for you.
A Personalized Music Experience
The integration becomes particularly valuable when you’re uncertain about what you want to listen to but know the type of music you’re in the mood for. Commands like “Gemini, find music for running” or “Gemini, play music to relax” allow Gemini to tailor music selections to your activity, mood, or preferred genre.
How to Enjoy This Integration?
To take advantage of this feature, start by linking your Google and Spotify accounts, which is prompted by asking Gemini to play, search, or browse music on Spotify. You’ll then follow simple on-screen instructions to activate Gemini Apps Activity. With that set up, you can use various commands to operate Spotify, like “Play [album name] on Spotify” or “search for the song that goes ‘[lyric]'”.
Currently, this integration is only available in English on Gemini, and it is not available on the web app, Google Messages, or on iPhones. Additionally, only Spotify Premium subscribers can request specific songs, a feature that aligns with the premium service’s ability to select individual tracks.
