When Dolby and TCL announced the development of FlexConnect back in 2023, industry insiders recognized it as a potential milestone for home entertainment. Yet, despite the initial buzz, consumers were left waiting for tangible products—until now. In a significant move, the latest generation of QD-Mini LED TVs from TCL, slated for their 2025 range, will finally integrate this technology directly into living rooms.

Simplified Speaker Placement Redefined by Dolby Atmos

Historically, achieving an optimal surround sound setup at home demanded precise positioning and hours of fine-tuning. With FlexConnect, however, those days seem numbered. Users can now place their speakers wherever suits their space, free from tedious configuration requirements. The system then takes over: it automatically analyzes both room acoustics and speaker locations before calibrating the audio output for an immersive result. TCL’s Expanding Audio Ecosystem

These technical strides are being matched by an expanding product lineup from TCL. At the heart of this push is the smart speaker Z100, engineered specifically to work alongside FlexConnect-compatible televisions. The Precise Dimming series—including models such as QM6K, QM7K, and the latest QM8K—will all support this innovative standard. Up to four Z100 speakers can be paired with a single television set, operating seamlessly with built-in drivers to produce spatialized sound precisely tuned via Dolby Atmos calibration.

Alongside the Z100, TCL is broadening its audio portfolio with its first-ever “party” speaker and a new Dolby Atmos-enabled soundbar—the Q65H. This reflects TCL’s ambition to solidify its position within the competitive American home entertainment market.
