The Huawei Mate 70 series is expected to feature significant improvements, including enhanced processing power, better 5G connectivity, improved photo quality, and longer battery life. China eagerly anticipates the official announcements.

Recent leaks reveal that the Huawei Mate 70 series will continue with four main models: the Standard, the Pro, the Pro+, and the RS Ultimate Design. The Pro model is highlighted as the pinnacle of the series, offering a premium entry-level experience. Early images of the Mate 70 Pro show a design that pays tribute to the Mate 50 series, featuring a uniform color on the back and a triple screen setup on the front.
A Technological Leap for Huawei
The upcoming Kirin chipset is expected to deliver significant improvements in processing technology and performance. The Pro model will feature a 2K display by BOE, measuring approximately 6.8 inches, with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also incorporate next-generation KUNLUN glass and be reinforced by Xuanwu architecture, significantly enhancing its resistance to drops, compression, and impacts.
Famed blogger @厂长是关同学 shared on Chinese social platform Weibo in early October that, “If the rumors hold true, the new Kirin chipset in the Huawei Mate 70 series could cost about 1,100-1,300 RMB, representing a substantial investment.” Despite production costs estimated to be nearly 30% higher than Apple’s Series 16, the Mate 70 series will not exceed Apple’s pricing.
The Rise of HarmonyOS
On October 22, Huawei officially launched HarmonyOS NEXT, becoming the third major mobile operating system globally, alongside Apple’s iOS and Android. Unlike previous versions of HarmonyOS, which relied on open-source AOSP and Android app compatibility, HarmonyOS NEXT is fully self-developed.
In conclusion, the Huawei Mate 70 series is shaping up to be the most anticipated flagship phone of the fourth quarter in China. From its design to internal configurations, including advancements in imaging technology and operating system, the device promises notable improvements and significant breakthroughs. Notably, it will come pre-installed with HarmonyOS NEXT, marking a bold step towards ecosystem integration. While Huawei has yet to reveal all details of the new device, the hints so far are already generating excitement.
