Zelensky Announces Capture of Two Chinese Fighters for Russia in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the arrest of two Chinese nationals accused of assisting Russia in the ongoing Ukrainian conflict.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Tuesday, April 8, that his forces have captured two Chinese soldiers for the first time.

The soldiers were fighting for the Russian army in Eastern Ukraine, a development that could significantly impact global geopolitics.

Chinese Involvement with the Russian Army

“Our military has captured two Chinese nationals fighting within the Russian army,” Zelensky disclosed on social media, suggesting this could be just the tip of the iceberg as “there are many more Chinese citizens in the occupier’s units.”

Call for International Response

In light of these events, the Ukrainian President has called for an international response, instructing his foreign minister to “immediately contact Beijing.”

Additionally, he urged Western countries to take a stance. “A reaction is absolutely necessary. A reaction from the United States, Europe, and all peace-loving global entities,” Zelensky stated.

Video Evidence and Further Combat Reports

Zelensky released a video showing one of the alleged Chinese soldiers. The footage features a young man in military fatigues, with Asian features and bound hands, describing a combat situation in English.

Furthermore, during a press conference, Zelensky reported that a total of six Chinese soldiers had engaged in combat with Ukrainian troops near the village of Bilogorivka.

He concluded by stating that China’s involvement in the conflict is “a clear signal that (Vladimir) Putin will do everything but end the war. He is looking for ways to continue fighting.”
